Reno River Contract

RENO RIVER AND BOLOGNESE CANAL CONTRACT

A river contract is a voluntary participatory process between parties who decide to cooperate for the improvement and development of an area characterised by the presence of water, in particular a river (and in our case canals).

The Reno River and Bolognese canal contract was thus stipulated as a response to the need to have a collaborative and participatory tool aimed at solving problems and making proposals regarding the protection and proper management of water resources, the development of areas around the river and protection against water-related risks, also contributing to local development.

In other words, it is a voluntary agreement between parties who recognise the existence of problems that are often commonplace and/or who want to improve the habitability and usability for people of a place with rivers and canals.
